We’re very proud to announce that imgZine has been selected by the organizers of the fourth Global Conference on Cyberspace (GCCS2015) to develop an application for this year’s event. The app’s goal was to keep attendees up-to-date with relevant news and updates during the conference, which took place on April 16-17, 2015 in The Hague. The application’s features include augmented reality with 3D location maps and the business matchmaker, a feature that connects attendees with similar interests.

Han-Maurits Schaapveld, GCCS 2015 Project Director at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “After the development of the NSS app, we worked extremely hard to create an innovative app for the GCCS 2015. As imgZine is able to find creative solutions, they developed an app that fits well with the main theme of the conference: innovation. We’re proud to announce that the app is being used by almost 60% of all attendees!”

Marijn Deurloo, CEO imgZine commented: “There is a growing need to provide high-security in line with mobile innovation. As we previously developed an app for the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS), we know how to set up an event app with the highest security standards that also boosts audience engagement. imgZine is pleased to have been selected as the developer of the GCCS2015 event app and we are proud to have helped the conference organizers optimize their communications. This is a significant milestone for our company and we are delighted to be part of this journey.”

Matching participants based on specialties and interests

The app contains a Matchmaking channel, which made it easy to connect with other attendees during the event. Attendees could register to find interesting peers, fill in their interests and specialties and search for interesting business partners. Finally, they could approach interesting parties with an in-app message.

The results are very positive: there were over 400 messages sent. At the opening of the GCCS in The Hague, Prime Minister Mark Rutte shared his views on why the matchmaker was a great success: “The internet works by connecting people, businesses and countries. We want to safeguard that connectivity and we have to do that by working together. That is what this conference is all about.”
